How we got reel

(50,000 ÷ 1,000) × ₹350 per 1k × 1.17 engagement × 1.00 niche = ₹20,417

Range is 0.8× to 1.25× of that, rounded to ₹500. Engagement factor = your 3.5% ÷ the 3% benchmark, capped between 0.5 and 2.

Questions creators ask

How much should I charge for an Instagram Reel in India?

A common starting point is ₹250–₹500 per 1,000 followers for a Reel, adjusted for engagement and niche. A 50k-follower lifestyle creator with average engagement typically lands around ₹14,000–₹22,000. Finance and tech creators can ask more because their audiences are worth more to advertisers.

Why does engagement rate change my price?

Brands pay for attention, not follower counts. If your engagement is double the benchmark for your platform, the calculator raises your rate (capped at 2×). If it's half, the rate drops. You can change the benchmark in the assumptions.

Should I charge extra for usage rights?

Yes. If a brand wants to run your content as a paid ad (whitelisting or usage rights), it gets far more value than an organic post. A 30%+ add-on is common, and often more for long usage periods.

Do these prices include GST?

No. If you're GST-registered, add 18% GST on top of these rates on your invoice. You can make a GST-correct invoice with our free GST invoice generator.

Is this rate guaranteed?

No. It's an indicative starting point for negotiation, based on typical 2026 asks in the Indian market. Your past results, audience location and demand will move it.
