Questions creators ask

How is Instagram engagement rate calculated?

Add up likes, comments, saves and shares across a set of recent posts, divide by your followers ร— the number of posts, and multiply by 100. Using 10 or more recent posts gives a steadier number than one viral post.

How is YouTube engagement rate calculated?

On YouTube it's usually measured against views, not subscribers: (likes + comments) รท views ร— 100, across the videos you're counting.

What is a good engagement rate on Instagram in 2026?

It depends on size. Smaller accounts usually see higher rates: nano accounts under 10k often get 3โ€“6%, while accounts over 1M typically get around 0.7โ€“1.5%. Compare yourself to your band, not to everyone.

Why do brands care about engagement rate?

It's a quick signal of how much attention your audience actually gives you. Brands use it to sanity-check follower counts and to decide how much a post is worth. Our rate calculator uses it to adjust your price.
